PRIVACY POLICY

The Union (“we”, “us”) is a vintage and consignment shop at 539 Castle St, Wilmington, NC 28401, operating online at theunionvintage.com. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Holds & reservations. When you reserve a piece for in-store pickup we collect your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number, along with the items you reserved, so we can set them aside and contact you about pickup.

Online purchases. Payments are processed by Square on Square's own checkout pages. Square shares with us your order details and payment status so we can fulfill your pickup — we never see or store your full card number. Square's handling of your payment data is covered by Square's privacy policy.

Newsletter. If you join the mailing list we store your email address with our email provider (Resend) and use it only to send the list you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Selling to us. The sell form opens an email in your own mail app — nothing is sent to us until you hit send, and we receive only what you write.

Marketplaces & point of sale. We list our own inventory on eBay and sell in person through Square. If you buy one of our pieces on eBay, your purchase and payment are handled by eBay under eBay's own privacy policy — on our side, the eBay connection is used only to publish our listings and to reconcile stock, and eBay shares with us just what we need to ship your order. We never see your full card number. For in-store purchases, Square processes your payment and shares the sale details with us, just as it does for the online orders described above.

We don't run analytics or advertising trackers, we don't use third-party marketing cookies, and we do not sell your personal information — to anyone, ever. Your shopping bag lives in your own browser's storage, not on our servers.

We use your information to process orders and pickups, hold reserved items, run consignor payouts, keep inventory accurate across our sales channels, send the newsletter you asked for, and respond to your inquiries. Our service providers — Square (payments), Supabase (database), Resend (email), and Vercel (hosting) — process data only on our behalf.

Reservation holds expire after 24 hours; we keep order and payout records as needed for bookkeeping and tax purposes. If eBay notifies us that a shopper has closed their eBay account, we delete or anonymize any associated personal data we hold — our eBay connection is used only to publish listings and keep stock accurate, so in practice that is little or none. To request deletion of your information directly, contact us using the details below.
